THE RTM TRAMWAY MUSEUM AT OUDDORP (NETHERLANDS)

Until February 1966 The 'Rotterdamsche Tramweg Maatschappij' (Rotterdam Tramway Company) operated an extensive narrow-gauge network between Rotterdam and the islands south of the city. Our (all volunteer!) museum at Ouddorp on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee succeeded in acquiring and preserving a representative part of the rolling stock of the former RTM. This includes steam- as well as diesellocomotives, railcars, passenger-carriages and goods-vans. A summary of our railvehicles you may find at the page 'Materieel' of this site. With these trams a regular service is run on our approximately 5 miles long museum tramway between the depot at De Punt West and Middelplaat Harbour. The running season for the year 2008 is as follows:

* The trams numbered 11 and 12 will not run at red saturdays.
The trams numbered 113 and 118 connect to a touristic boatservice at Middelplaat Harbour; thus giving a good impression of the tram/ship transportsystem between the islands in earlier days. At some days also a service with original RTM-museumbuses is provided to other towns on the island.

During periods of extreme dryness dieseltraction will be used for all trams to avoid the danger of fire.

During scheduled events (see below) and on some other occasions a mailvan will be added to the tram. In those cases you may have your postcards mailed by tram, provided with special stamps.

At operating days the museum is opened between 11.00 and 17.30 hrs. Besides those days you may see our collection from mid April till the end of October on wednesdays and saturdays between 13.00 and 16.00 hrs.

The following events are scheduled for the year 2010:
